Karen M. McManus delivers the sequel to One of Us is Lying, with a storyline just as addicting. One of Us is Next picks up soon after the drama surrounding Simon ends, introducing us to Maeve, Knox, and Phoebe. Each are connected to the Bayview Four in some way and all are about to experience the ride of their lives.
There's a new game taking over Bayview High...Truth or Dare? You may have heard of it before, but this time, it leads to the death of a Bayview Student. When Maeve, Knox, and Phoebe are the first to have their secrets released, it becomes their mission to figure out the person behind the new game.
Heading into One of Us is Next, I felt unsure as to whether or not this storyline would be too similar and somewhat repetitive. Fortunately, there were enough twists and turns that although it was a sequel, it took on it's own identity. Knox's shy and awkward personality was by far my favorite and I really enjoyed watching Maeve grow into herself. The ending surpassed my expectations and left me with goosebumps. HOLY COW, I was NOT expecting the shocking revelation and was left with goosebumps I'm still trying to shake. Overall, this was the page turner I was hoping for!
